Keep your current book, a reading goal or a favorite quote close by with a Bookrise widget. You can check your progress at a glance, and some widgets let you log pages or start a reading session right there.

Widgets are available on iPhone and iPad.

1. Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
2. Tap **Edit** → **Add Widget** in the top-left corner. On iOS 17, tap **+**.
3. Search for **Bookrise** and tap it.
4. Swipe through the widgets and sizes, then tap **Add Widget** on the one you want.

## Add a Lock Screen widget

1. Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap **Customize** → **Lock Screen**.
2. Tap the space for widgets under the clock.
3. Choose a Bookrise widget.

## Choose what a widget shows

Touch and hold a widget, then tap **Edit Widget** to see its options.

### Choose a book for Currently Reading

Pick a **Book** to keep one book in view. Leave it empty to follow the book you read last. For the small widget, use **Style** to choose **Cover** or **Progress Ring**.

### Choose a note to revisit

For the **Note** widget, pick a specific **Note** to keep it on display. Or leave it empty and choose one of these options under **Show**:

- **A Different Note Every Day**
- **A Different Note Every Hour**
- **Newest Note**

You can narrow the choice to a **Book**, a **Tag** or **Favorites Only**. Use **Style** and **Show Book** to change how the note looks.

### Filter the Notes list

For the **Notes** widget, choose a **Book**, a **Tag** or **Favorites Only** to decide which notes appear. When you choose a book, new notes you start from that widget belong to the same book.

The other widgets follow your reading, goals and streaks in Bookrise and have no extra widget settings.

## Tinted and clear Home Screens

If you choose **Tinted** or **Clear** for your Home Screen icons in iOS, Bookrise widgets follow the system's colors. Book covers keep their original colors.
